Stained Glass Snood
Illuminate a complexion with this stained glass effect snood. Each little patch of light is a mottled blend of vivid brights or washes of softer hues, set onto a black base. Each snood has been made by textile artists at fair trade cooperative Baobab Batik in Swaziland.
The blends of colours on this snood are a demonstration of hand-dyed batik, whereby layers of wax are used to keep colours separated and the edges defined during dying and print making. This traditional art is time-consuming but creates a flawless hand-worked finish – special in every way.
