A true piece of handmade folk art design, this navy blue handbag has been embroidered by hand with a medley of geometric shapes and florals. Just think about the time it took to embroider each of these designs so meticulously. The embroidered cotton details even travel up and around the handles. The central design on the front panel has been embellished even further with mirrorwork, and so will catch the light when you’re out and about.
This handbag is as natural as it is handmade, and is made from 100% cotton, harvested under fair trade standards. The bag closes easily with a magnetic fastening, and there’s a little zipped pocket inside for your most important bits and pieces. The lining inside is a bright vivid turquoise – a true treat for the eyes!

In 1954, a group of adventuring Dominican nuns from Spain arrived in Ahmedabad, India, to start a hospital. The sisters were horrified by the hopeless poverty, the homes without sanitation, and the low levels of life skills. The area had been famous for its textiles, but with trends changing the mills were starting to close, leaving families with little income.
“Everything is good! Like a family, we work together in a group.”
