Natural quinoa flour provides a healthy, hearty alternative for traditional wheat based flour. Whether you're trying out a gluten-free diet or want to increase your nutritional intake, using organic quinoa flour from Quinola Mothergrain for baking muffins, cakes, pancakes, and cookies provides a healthy source of protein, iron, and fibre. Give it a whirl when making pizza bases! It's totally fair trade too, so it's as good for the farmers in Peru as it is for you.

Quinola

Quinola’s philosophy is deeply ethical. They believe that business is a good thing, but that business is also often horribly unfair to the growers themselves. They were sick of seeing the farmer bullied into a corner, and set about to balance the scales a bit.

Quinola’s quinoa is sourced directly from a group of 500 famers in Peru called Cabana Co-operative, based just north of Lake Titicaca. Quinola want to do things just a little bit differently, and make sure that all quinoa is bought under fair trade rules. No chemical nasties are used during the growing process, and the farmers use a mixed agriculture and crop rotation method which is better for local wildlife and allows the land to regenerate between harvests.

  • Ideal solution to gluten free baking
  • Source of protein and iron
  • High in fibre
  • Organic

Use in place of regular flour for any non-raising baking you do. For sponge cakes, breads or other recipes that require the flour to rise you will need to add a raising agent such as xanthan.

Made with fair trade Quinoa. Quinola supports a group of about 500 farmers from the Cabana co-operative in Peru and has been awarded nine Gold Stars in the annual Great Taste Awards and four Free From Awards.

Weight: 250g

Ingredients: Organic Quinoa Flour

Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

How to use: Super versatile, our organic and gluten free flour can replace traditional wheat based flours for cookies, cakes and non-yeast based mixes. For yeast based recipes use some xanthan gum to act as a binding agent that gluten performs in wheat based recipes. Or simply mix your flours for extra flavour (almond flour for example)
