The rich, fertile, volcanic soil on the slopes of Mount Kenya has allowed farmers to grow the most succulent fruits and vegetables for decades.
Meru Herbs has captured the identity, vitality and taste of the region in their delicious range of sauces. These all-natural sauces are made in small batches and have an incredibly fresh taste in every jar, with nothing artificial ever added to their ingredients.
Only the juiciest tomatoes are selected to go into this sauce, as well as chillies which are not too spicy, but not too sweet either – giving this sauce a good balance of sweetness to acidity. Perfect with pastas, this is the store cupboard essential you simply couldn’t be without!

Meru Herbs

Meru’s herbal teas are grown along a stretch of the Kithino river in Kenya. They’re passionate about growing their high-grade herbs as naturally, organically, and ethically as possible. Everything that sprouts is grown in perfect balance with people and the earth.

Meru Herbs offers secure long-term livelihoods for growers in the local area, buying their greens in return for a fair price. They support the growers with training, raise the profile of women growers, and educate local communities about the importance of organic farming methods. At the moment they’re focusing on creating exceptionally fair and hand-harvested teas, sauces, jams, and chillis – but who knows what they’ll grow next?
