Kaisa Tape Baskets
Sorry, this item is out of stock
This set of 2 storage baskets has been woven by hand from kaisa grass, which grows in the fields surrounding the weavers’ workshop in Bangladesh. Once the kaisa grass has dried, it can be woven into many all-natural and eco-friendly baskets and hampers. These natural baskets have been woven around with white plastic to add texture, interest, and a cool Scandinavian feel.
Fill these baskets with anything your heart desires. They’re lightweight, versatile, and easily stacked to save space.

Hundreds of families in Bangladesh rely on jute for a steady income. CORR – The Jute Works was set up in 1973 as a charitable trust, providing women weavers with the training and skills needed to make locally-grown jute products in the safety and comfort of their own homes.
"We are very proud of what my mother did. It would have been quite impossible for me to go to university if there was only my father’s income. I want to stay in the village and teach the children.”
Nargis, the daughter of Firoza Begum - an artisan at The Jute Works
