Vegan & Fair Trade Sweet Potato and Lentil Curry Recipe

If you’re looking for a tasty, vegan, tea time treat with an optional spicy kick, this easy to follow, fair trade curry recipe from our friends at JTS is an excellent, ethical option.

Serves 4-6


  1. 1 diced onion
  2. 1 diced clove of garlic
  3. 1 large, chopped carrot
  4. 1 chopped sweet potato
  5. ½ can of Ma’s Kitchen Organic Coconut Milk
  6. ½ jar Eswatini Kitchen Medium Curry Sauce
  7. Eswatini Flamin’ Hot Swazi Fire (optional)
  8. 340g lentils
  9. 600ml vegetable stock
  10. 400g Kilombero Brown Rice



Some of the ingredients you will need to make this ethical, vegan curry


  1. Heat onion and garlic, stirring until browned
  2. Add ½ jar of Eswatini Kitchen Medium Curry Sauce
  3. Add one teaspoon of Eswatini Flamin’ Hot Swazi Fire (optional – but recommended if you like your curries with a kick!)
  4. Add the chopped carrot and sweet potato
  5. Add 340g of lentils and 600ml vegetable stock. Bring to the boil and simmer for 25 minutes
  6. Cook 400g Kilombero Brown Rice
  7. When lentils and sweet potato are tender, mix and stir in 200ml of Ma’s Organic Coconut milk, then serve with rice…
