Charities That Traidcraft Supports

Charity is very important to us at Traidcraft. In fact, every fair trade supporter who buys from us is invited to support our sister charity, Traidcraft Exchange, which most do when they checkout. Traidraft Exchange is very much our lead charity and does exceptional work.

Traidcraft Exchange

Traidcraft Exchange is determined to bring people together to fight injustice in trade – and they’ve been doing that since 1986, all across the world.

In its simplest form, trade should be beneficial for everyone involved. Goods and money are exchanged and everyone is better off.

But global trade doesn't work this way - instead it feeds the rich and exploits the poor. It traps people in poverty – and the changing climate exacerbates these problems.

It's Traidcraft Exchange’s mission to challenge the way global trade works - to use the power of trade to create lasting solutions to poverty.

Meet the Regenerators

Sea levels are rising, forests are burning, and those who caused the least damage are paying the highest price.

But the people who are living with the devastating effects of climate change are fighting back, and they need your support.

Additional Charities We Support

In addition to Traidcraft Exchange, for a long time we have also had strong partnerships with three other UK-based charities: Christian Aid, CAFOD and SCIAF. A percentage of our charity Christmas card sales is donated to these four charities every year; in 2020 alone, thanks to our customers, we donated over £51,000.

Many members of the team here at Traidcraft hold a variety of charitable causes close to their hearts, for individual and personal reasons. As we are a company that puts people first when decision making, a group of us meet every quarter to decide which local or smaller scale charities we can help and how, taking these charities as well as external into consideration. We do have certain criteria which we work around and prefer to really get to know and understand causes, rather than simply handing over donations.

If you require our support in terms of time, we’re happy to consider volunteering or hosting/getting involved in events. If you feel this may be required by a charity you support or are a part of, you can get involved by requesting our charity support at: charity@traidcraft.co.uk
