Fair Trade Wine
Our white wine comes from selected vineyards in La Rioja, and is the uniquely flavoured Torrontes for which Argentina is famed. Best served young and well-chilled, this subtly floral wine is wonderfully aromatic on the nose and packed with juicy fruit flavours. It has a natural crisp acidity, and the long finish is the perfect accompaniment to a fresh salad or creamy pasta dish. It also matches well with mildly spiced ethnic foods.

Founded in 1940, La Riojana Cooperativa Vitivinifrutícola de La Rioja Limitada is located in Chilecito in the valley located between the Nevado del Famatina and the Macizo del Velazco in Argentina.

The fair trade organization La Riojana Cooperativa, has more than 600 members, it produces wine by means of the traditional techniques and the most advanced technology.

The farmers see their most important benefit as the fair trade price for the grapes, but there are also a number of social benefits, including insurance against storm & frost damage (La Riojana is the only co-operative in the country to offer this) and access to free technical assistance and advice.
