The Panay Fair Trade Center (PFTC) supplies Traidcraft with banana chips. It is based on Panay island on the Philippines and was set up in 1991 by a women's association as a "not for profit" organisation. It deals in sugar and bananas, ensuring a fair deal for farmers and processors, for example, the workers in PFTC's banana chip plant get 5-10% higher pay than other local workers. PFTC is also concerned for the environment and is actively encouraging organic farming.
