The Brazil nuts in the nut selections come from the CAI Campesino co-operative in Bolivia, selling on behalf of more than 300 nut-gathering families, widely scattered in the Amazon forest. Agrocel are the main suppliers of cashew nuts whom through support from Traidcraft have entered and grown considerably within the fair trade market.
The raisins in the snacks come from South Africa near the Kalahari where small scale farmers have set up the Eksteenskuil Farmers Association to maintain and protect their skills in growing and drying of grapes ¿ a vitally important source of income for them. Gert Titus is one of the small farmers and member of the Farmers Association who benefits from access to farm machinery and training paid for with the Fairtrade premium. ¿For us success began when Traidcraft came in,¿ he said. ¿They financed implements for us and that was a great breakthrough.
