Life for people in Kenya can be very tough. The climate in East Africa is changing and it is becoming more difficult to predict when the rains will come. Traidcraft is training famers in diversifying their incomes so they are less reliant on one crop and are better prepared for any future crises. Patricia Mutangili is a tea farmer at Ndima tea factory in Kenya. We arranged for her to visit the tea factory at Iriaini. Patricia saw that, by keeping bees and growing passion fruit as well as growing tea, farmers at Iriaini can ensure a more consistent income for their families, safeguarding against a future which might include a drought or a flood.

Traidcraft can support more Kenyan tea communities like Patricia’s to diversify their incomes but we need your help.

£150 could allow Traidcraft to work with the poorest and most marginalised producers, to offer practical help to safeguard a community’s wellbeing and future livelihood.
