Let's unite
Mrs. Flotea Massawe is the founder and Managing Director of Marvellous Batik. Mrs. Massawe's story goes back to 1985. She was married and worked at home to care for the house and her family.
However, she realized that being a housewife was not really helping her and her family, her husband's income was not enough to meet the needs of the family.
Therefore in 1985 she decided to learn few skills especially in batik making as a way of finding means and ways to support her husband and increase their income.
After learning skills from her friends, she decided to produce batik and in 1991 she formed Marvellous Batik. Marvellous Batik apart from selling Batiks, clothes, garments, home decorations etc, also provide training for those who need to enter into that field or to improve their skills. Marvellous Batik is operated in a way that all the workers knows the income generated, expenses incurred and the surplus.
